Valentine’s at the VFW was a real treat for the couples who attended. The hall was decorated with red garland and white netting. Tables were set with pink table clothes, red doilies and a heart center piece. A mirror ball was hung in the center of the room for a romantic feel.

Barbara Ann Cobb, Nettie and Reba Schulz decorated. Ralph and Dottie supplied music during and after dinner.

Two couples celebrated their anniversaries: Adam and Katie Lynn celebrated their 13th and Frank and Ann Shaffer celebrated their 43rd.

A five course meal was served and prepared by cooks Reba Schulz and France; Advertisement

[ The Tutoring Center ] servers were Patricia Clarke, Bob and Barbara Ann Cobb. The house dishwasher/bus person was Ron Anderson.

The five course meal started with a shrimp cocktail, then spinach bisque, salad, prime rib, potato, and broccoli. The first three courses included white wine then with the main meal, red wine. For dessert: chocolate torte with berries and whipped cream served with champagne.

Organizer Reba Schultz was delighted with the turnout, "For a Thursday night activity people didn’t leave until 10 p.m. Everyone had a wonderful time, and they want us to do it again next year. For $25 a person it was great a deal."
