On Dec. 31, starting at 4 p.m., we’re planning a New Year’s Eve Party with Ralph and Dottie doing karaoke. It will be $7 without a potluck item and $5 with a potluck dish. Some games will be available for the younger bunch and the party will be over when the ball drops in New York (9 p.m. CA time). Call Reba Schulz at 763-2254 for more information.

Also to usher in the new year, the VFW will be hosting a Valentine’s Day event on Feb. 14, 2013. This is one occasion where we dress up the Post and dance after dinner. In the past, the place has been gorgeous. We will be serving a five course gourmet dinner. This will consist of an appetizer, soup, salad, intermission (sorbet), main course with vegetables, decadent dessert all served with wine and a glass of champagne at a low price of $25 each.
