Thursday, November 29th, 2012
Issue 48, Volume 16.

ANZA – The Anza CERT Team (ACT) has launched a new website to help residents throughout the high country communities obtain information regarding local and regional agencies, community service groups, volunteer training opportunities, and other emergency resources.

The site features links to the County of Riverside Fire Department’s Office of Emergency Services, RACES (Riverside’s emergency communications service), and REARS (Riverside Emergency Animal Rescue System), several local CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) groups, and other important local organizations. There are also online videos and a library of documents and links pertaining to emergency preparedness for fire, earthquake, heat exposure, hypothermia, etc. covering such topics as basic first aid, food storage, preparation checklists, recovery timelines and activities, and more.

"Many people ask where they can gain direction Advertisement

regarding emergency services. This website is one central location for such information," says Sandi Hughes, ACT facilitator. "When we witness such events as Hurricane Sandy and the fire seasons that so often threaten Southern California, we’re motivated to prepare. People need somewhere to channel that motivation and so many organizations need volunteers. This website will help them find free personal training as well as group support and avenues for emergency participation."

Visit the new website at

www.anzacertteam.info.

In order to unify the efforts of all high country volunteer emergency preparedness groups with the citizens they serve, this website links and hosts pages for any group wishing to share their emergency information online. Email contact@anzacertteam.info for more information.
